outstanding I love it... easy to clean
Love it!
I have three other Copper Chef skillets that have been in use for over a year. This square skillet will be the 4th. I'm not an professional cook nor a skillet expert but, since all of my skillets have preformed just fine I wonder if some of the complaints about the skillets sticking and warping aren't the fault of the people using them. The instructions - (remember those), state, " Do you not use extra virgin olive oil or olive oil spray's. They cannot withstand high heating and will leave a thin carbonized layer on the nonstick coating." " Do not submerge a hot skillet in Coldwater is this may result in warping. " I also think once you start scrubbing on these skillets it is down hill from there. On YouTube I learned that if you develope an area in the skillet that sticks you need to slow boil some detergent and water for about 15 minutes and it will stop sticking. It worked for me. I would not use metal utensils despite the commercials. What would be the advantage anyway? Don't be afraid to buy this product just read the insert that comes with it. P.S. It is smaller than you realize - the bottom of the pan is not going to fit for grilled cheese sandwiches at once.
Love this!!! I made the best steamed shrimp ever!!! Maryland style with Old Bay. 1 bottle of beer, pickeling spice, and old bay seasoning. coat the shrimp in shells with old bay, and steam til done. Amazing. and really easy to clean up.
The only thing I can find wrong is that you can't forget the handle is hot when you pull it out of the oven..,
so far, so good!!!!
This pan is marvelous. It puts the perfect sear on a steak then goes right into the oven. Wipe with a paper towel to clean. My new go to pan in my kitchen. Says in instructions - USE NO METAL. Guess the infomercial people are liars. Imagine that. Still a great pan!
this product is NOT scratch resistant!!
love them - better than I would have expected
Is excellent
Works beautifully. Cook anything without oils. Pan cleans easily every time. Love the steamer basket and clear lid with steam vent. Perfect meals with capacity for a crowd.
Love it. It is just like the infomercial on tv. Good purchase.
I like it use it all the time.
Love it
Met expectations as advertised.
hard to clean and eggs stuck on it
The Ad leads you to believe you're buying a copper pan. This is an aluminum pan that is copper colored and has a metal insert on the bottom. It's OK so far. It cleans easily. Paperwork that came with the pan says: not for commercial use, but the Ad shows it being used in a commercial kitchen. Also, lemon juice may damage the coating, according to instructions. I used it on the stove to deep fry and in the oven.
So far, I made the salmon, the fritatta and the beef fillets. All came out excellent! I know it's not real copper. But if you treat it like any non-stick pan, it works great! It's easy to clean (especially if you follow the recommended instructions: squirt a little dish liquid in it and fill it with very hot water, then let it sit a while) I would have given it 5-stars but the steamer tray has metal feet - not a good idea by Copper Chef!
My daughter loved it, and so did i.
an excellent cooking tool! very nice, makes food prep easy!!
I was super skeptical, but this pan rocks! It's nonstick, just as advertised, and although it looks smaller in person it really holds a lot! I've fried fish n shrimp in it and seared a roast before throwing the whole pan into the oven with potatoes and vegetables. Everything has come out perfect and clean up is as simple as wiping the pan out with a paper towel! Seriously!! I'll take pictures next time, maybe a video, because the negative reviews almost convinced me not to make this purchase. Trust me, this pan lives up to the hype. I dunno what the nay-sayers were cooking with, but it definitely wasn't the Copper Chef pan that I received! I plan on purchasing the smaller round frying pans and throwing out my Circulon set. I honestly love this pan!
This was a gift for my husband who saw it on TV and wanted it. So far he has yet to deep fry or steam anything. However, he recently used it to pan fry chicken cutlets for chicken parmesan. The chicken cooked perfectly! We have to use gluten-free ingredients so the "crunch" is different but it seemed every bit as good as our other pans and he said cleaning up was so much easier afterwards! The next time he used it was a regular cooking job (no oil involved this time) and I was the pot-washer. It really does clean easily! My only comment to talk you out of buying this would be to buy the larger size instead! (It's too bad that one doesn't have the long handle or I would have given that instead. I knew my husband was looking for the pan-handled one.)
It's just as amazing as it is on the infomercial worth every penny and then some
This was a gift from me to my sister. When she received it she told me she had just bought herself a new pot. But I'm in NY and she's in Florida so she said I'll try it. We speak on the phone quite often and every time she makes something she says to me I love this pot everything cooks so good in it. It is so easy to clean. Now she uses it for everything. It's been four months since I sent it to her and every once in awhile she will say oh I love this pot. Lol really she still does. I'm gonna make her happy and buy one for myself.
Wife's favorite pan. It's always sitting on out stove either cooking something or getting ready to cook. She cooks way to much, my grocery bill is getting high and I'm getting fat. She loves cooking and using this pot.i tried to explain to her that we have different pots and pand but she will only use this one. Another go point I got for getting this for her.
My friend told me this is an excellent product, I try , that's true! My lovely pan!
This pan is incredible. I've only had it for about a month now and used it 5 or 6 times, but it is definitely living up to the hype. I've made eggs, stir fry, frittata, and saute'd vegetables and there is nothing left on the pan after running under the sink. I haven't used the steamer or fry basket yet, but they seem sturdy and good quality. I'll update this review if the quality of the pan deteriorates over time.
I have made several recipes with this pan the fried chicken was my favorite.. love the easy clean up and like the weight of the pan not so heavy..
I'm an iron skillet cook and I really love the way this chef pan cooks, now I will grab this one over my iron skillets. It really doesn't need all the butter and oil to cook with, nothing sticks to it. It does take a little getting use to when it comes to heating up but once it's at the right temperature this pan is fantastic to cook with. I use gas to cook so I don't think it takes as long to heat up as an electric stove.
We purchased this copper chef square pan about a month ago, so far: Pros are: - The pan gets hot quickly and the heat is even, perfect for stir fries and other Asian cuisines. - Very easy to clean, especially with all of the sauces we use to cook. - We use less oils during cooking now. - The pan is easy to handle, specially its light weight. Cons: - none at this point of using
It's a great product
This Pan is Awesome! I would love to have an entire set of these. Cooked breakfast this morning using one pan because it was so quick and easy to clean in between uses. Cooked eggs, bacon, and even pancakes. See scrambled eggs below. WARNING: This pan will not turn you into a good cook. If you do not know how to cook, once purchased, you will still not be able to cook.
Haven't used yet but sure i will.love it.
Hey, we LOVE this pan. My husband decided to buy it. I was skeptical -- like we need ANY MORE pots or pans in our cupboard -- what's wrong w/RevereWare supplemented by a teflon pan or two? Lo and behold, this pan really IS great! No stick, it's deep enough to make a family-sized meal in one pan and clean-up is super easy -- just wipe out the pan and you're pretty much ready to put it back in the cupboard..
So far I love my pot. I came on here to buy one for my mother in law but these reviews are alarming. So I’m going based on my experience and I’ll update if that changes. It is extremely nonstick, washes easily, is nice large, looks of quality. I’ve used it for a few weeks and no complaints. My fam love rice crispy treats. They are sooo easy to make. The only someone hard part is the sticking. There was zero sticking in this pan. First for that! Get the pan and make some treats. Tonight I sautéed some meatballs and then simmered in sauce. Came immediately to a simmer, and best pan I’ve ever used to crisp up the outside of the meatballs. Held a lot, and w higher sides didnt splatter. I’d recommend this pan.
I have been using this pan for about 4-5 months now, and it still works great! I use it on both stovetop and induction top with no problems, and I use low/medium heat to prevent any kind of damage to the pan. I like the deep sides of the pan for making 1-pot meals such as pasta dishes and casseroles. Despite this pan being non-stick, I always use some kind of oil or butter to ensure that nothing sticks, but the few times I haven't used enough butter nothing sticks. I have never had an issue with getting food stuck on the pan, even dried on. This being said, this isn't always my go-to pan as it is larger than I need it to be (cooking for one person), so perhaps that is why I haven't run into the issues that other people have had. I also purchased mine at Costco, although it is the same brand and set - although I have not used the steamer or fry basket yet. I have seen many reviews where people buy the cheaper knock-off "Copper Chef' pans but are sorely disappointed because the manufacturers are making cheap pans with a little copper covering over a pan that looks awfully similar to this. People should also be wary of using metal utensils - such as forks and spatulas as this pan should not be scratched. I always use silicone or rubber spatulas when I use this pan, just to be cautious. If the pan gets scratched up, that can affect it's performance in terms of being nonstick. I also always wash the pan with a soft sponge, there's also no need for any abrasive scrubbers on the pan, not even the other side of the sponge as nothing sticks to this pan. If you buy Copper Chef brand, you should not have the same problems as the knock off brands.
I see the pics sent by negative reviewers for this pan, so I must believe them. However; I can't understand because I love this pan and I will explain how I use it, which may help someone. a} I have never used it on HIGH. b} I use a gas stove. c} Contrary to instructions, I always use spray olive oil before cooking in the pan. d} I don't intend to use it in the oven. e} I always, always use non-metal utensils on my non-stick pans no matter what. e} I don't put it in the dishwasher. f} I don't use it to "fry" in with inches of hot oil. Hope that helps.
xa0I could go on and on about this pan but will try to keep it short and to the point. Without using any oil or butter eggs came out perfect. No sticking to the pan at all. Bacon came out crisp and evenly cooked, had to cut the bacon in half because otherwise it did not fit in the pan. Cooked both on low to medium. It is recommended not to use cooking spray or extra virgin olive oil b/c they cannot withstand high heating and leave a thin carbonized layer on the non-stick coating. Never immerse hot pan in cold water to avoid warping. Use the great non-metal cooking utensils that came with the set - they are pretty sturdy. Steaming is a breeze with the added steam tray. I used 3 cups of water to avoid water touching the bottom of the tray when boiling. Holds about 2/3 of a bag (1lb) of brussel sprouts. The holes in the tool are a bit large so I would not recommend steaming peas :). No problem cleaning the pan (it is dishwasher safe)- the instructions has some tips on how to remove stuck on food and removing stains on the bottom of the pan. The small cook book has some nice looking recipes with awesome pics of them. I wished I could add a video of ALL the wonderful uses this pan has to offer (frying, oven baking, dishwasher safe) however that would take up way too much space and time..... You just have to experience it for yourself and have fun with it. ** Purchased at discount to review - my review is honest and unbiased and I was not compensated for opinion or rating, of course individual experience may vary**
great pans
Best pan I've ever used. Nothing sticks and it cleans so easily. I love that it goes from the stovetop to the oven.
As described. Nothing sticks and very easy to clean.
